This is a special piece, coming directly from the family. Some provenance was available, but the family member being dealt with was a bit short on detail as sometimes happens.  
 
We were informed Mr. Halhofer completed three tours in Viet-Nam apparently in an advisory role to the South Vietnamese Marines, presumably in the late 1950’s to early 1960’s. 
 
This knife/sheath is in outstanding condition, particularly for one that saw service in SE Asia.
