This is special Model 1, made in the early 1970’s, towards the end of the Viet Nam War. What really makes this piece unique is the polished stag handle, no longer available from the Randall Shop. I like to call it “poor man’s Ivory”, as it resembles ivory, or maybe more so, fossil Ivory. Also unique is the “Commando” shape handle of this material, as most often this material is configured in the “standard” handle shape used in the Randall line. The broad blade of the day, is hand forged Stainless Steel, and has an etched Randall Made Knives logo. A Maurice Johnson Model “B” sheath with a white SP-13 Bear Brand stone in the pouch, completes the package. Overall this handsome and rare Model 1-8″ has some nice options, and is no longer available with the handle material. It is in mint condition, and it would be difficult to find a similar and/or better example.
