This is special Model 5, made in 1960-1961.  This example has a material used for the handle, in what was the real first foray  into the use of synthetic handle materials by the Shop. The brown micarta is of the earliest linen variety, the first type used by the shop. The bottom left photo with the black background gives a good representation of the true color. 
 
The blade has been used and is full with a deep choil. It shows evidence of sharpening, but it was done tastefully/correctly. The highlight is the blade  exhibits a beautiful patina, that only comes from time. It may have even been cold blued at one time. 
 
A Heiser-Keyston-Lichtenberger (HKL) sheath is a solid example in good condition. It exhibits the signs of being carried, that only add to the character of the knife/sheath package.  The only “flaw” is it is missing the male portion of the keeper strap brown button snap. It can be repaired. 
 
Overall, this somewhat rare Model 5-7″ has an impressive presentation, with a rare handle material last used in the early 1960’s. It is  in excellent carried condition, and it would be difficult to find a similar and/or better example of a carried piece.
