This is a beautiful example of a Model 1, with some nice options, and representing the end of an era. This was made in late 80’s, approaching the end of the supply and use of Westinghouse “Ivorite” Micarta as a handle material by the shop.
The 6″ 01 tool steel blade is flawless, and the small saw-teeth really set it off.
The Westinghouse “Ivorite” micarta handle has mellowed to a nice pale yellow, lying somewhere in the middle of the color spectrum of how this material can age.
The shop supplied white face compass works as it should.
The Johnson rough back sheath does not appear to have had the knife in it, save for the fitting of the keeper snap.
