A beautiful Viet Nam era Astro in mint condtion. I estimate this one was made 1967 or so. It has an earlier blade grind which is much better looking in my opinion than the later modifed grind.
The large stainless steel hilt is really nice. Black micarta scales have some green veining. Stainless bolts hold it together.
The blonde Johnson riveted sheath is near mint showing only the slightest signs of handling at best. The nape on the back is as fresh as the day it was made.
Original shop supplied leather ties are unsused and fully intact as they came from the shop, which is a tough find after all these years.
This is one outstanding Viet Nam era Astro that would be impossible to improve upon.
