Great Model 11 with a 5″ blade and rare brown micarta handle!!
Product Details
Early Model 11 in great shape here.
The blade appears to be on the cusp of the change of the earlier style narrow style blade grind to the wider ricasso from around 1963 . In fact, I think the blade is a bit earlier forging from the late 50’s to very early 60’s. It has a deep choil and the heavy thumb notches indicative of an early model 11.
The blade is unsharpened and appears unused. It has a beautiful patina exhibiting light hammer marks. Really has the “vintage” Randall look.
A brass flat top single hilt is separated from the handle by the seven spacer stack of the day.
The brown linen micarta may be the best looking handle material Randall ever used and aside from its rarity, partly explains one reason why is it so sought after. This knife doesn’t disappoint and is a very fine example.
The Maurice Johnson sheath is in great condition showing light handling but no real use. It is stamped 11-5 on the back.
The stone pouch contains the correct combination crystolon stone.
