Rarest Shop Supplied Handle Material 1-8" Stainless Circa 1972

A superb example of the rarest micarta handle material supplied by the shop in this seven spacer configuration

Product Details
  • Far more rare than even the ubiquitous brown micarta, Westinghouse Ivorite on a seven spacer knife is almost unheard of. Very few examples left the shop as Bo got some samples in to try while searching for a replacement for Delrin that was currently in use.
  • This Model 1-8″ with a broad stainless steel blade is as fine of an example you will see. Made on the cusp of the switch to three thick two thin spacer , it is in outstanding condition.
  • Typical brass hilt of the day are separated from the handle by the definitive spacer arrangement for non-leather handles.
  • The finger grooved “Old Yeller” has mellowed as only it can to the color we have all grown to love.
  • Maurice Johnson sheath with and SP-13 Bear Brand stone in the pouch.

Note: I am going to publish an article on the origins and use of the Westinghouse material on the updated website coming in 2022.
