This knife is a great example of the 4th Randall Knife Society Special, and in my opinion, the best of the five RKS specials. The knife is based on a WWII Commando model.

The story of this knife can be read in Issue 48, December 2000 of the RKS newsletter available on this site under “RMK Resources” then “Newsletters” in the drop down menu.

The RKS 4 had 384 made with stacked leather handles, and 816 with stag handle. As  a matter of note, I belive the leather handle model is better,  as the stag the shop used on these was very narrow due to short supply at the time..

The Sullivan’s sheath is made specifically for this knife in the vein of WWII Clarence Moore sheaths.
